still on a sugar high...

here's our crew from halloween...we spent the morning pony riding, then made our way over to austin peay for the homecoming parade, headed over to 'tailgate alley' where they had 'trunk or treating' for the kids, after that, we took them to a fall festival where they played a few games and spent the rest of the time in a bouncy...and finally home where we handed out handfulls of candy before letting them hit up a couple houses themselves... we had several neighbors who had treat bags ready just for them & they were delighted...i just ignored the comments like 'mom, whats this?' as braxton popped a choc eyeball in his mouth...some things they just don't need to know are weird yet..ill let them enjoy their innocence while they can :)

for school mia was a zebra....for dance, a cat (like ms. jessica, of course) and saturday, a bumble bee...brax proudly sported his fireman getup...he was stopped a few times by grown firemen & im not sure who was prouder to see who...

here's meg meg's FIRST CLASSROOM! yay! miss hackney is now a reality and no longer a game we played as first grade little girls...im so proud..and man, she's gotta be the coolest teach in school! ms. carr, watch out....

mia delivering her first fundraiser for dance...now our entire street has enough pizza for a month...& our playdate with buddies eliyah & ava...brix refers to them as 'aba & his 'other friend'...
sweet knox...going 9 hours strong thru the nite! what more could a new mama want...

redneck riviera...

for our anniversary brock suprised me with the idea of a beach trip...we missed our trip this summer bc of my very pregnant self and although i love the beach, it's not ideal for delivery... so campus was on fall break so we took off for a few short days... weather was great for the first 2 days but cold front moved in and we sure felt it! our stubborn selves drug our freezing kids out to the sand anyway and eventually it warmed up (or we just got used to it:) and outside of wind gusts pelting us with sand, it wasn't that bad...sort of...

im usually pretty old fashioned about white after labor day, but i guess this is one exception...

one of our fav spots..well, mine anyway, "LULU's"..opened by jimmy buffets sister..they always have live music & outdoor eating...food's just ok but total beach bum atmosphere

took a boat ride to spot dolphins (very touristy, i know)..water way too choppy to go out into gulf but the ride was fun anyway...the next morning, we saw at least 2 dozen of them leaping around outside our balcony..

knox's first 'caught on camera' smile

here's a stingray washed up 5 feet from us...

we were laying out by the pool and mia and i were debating if the small pool was a kiddie pool or a hot tub, she was convinced it was a hot tub... so for a few minutes she didn't respond and i could tell she was trying to process something in her little brain, so i watch her walk over to the kiddie pool, look for a minute, then came back over and declared "yeah, you're right...i did see cat hair in it..."

after 5 days of sunshine and no naps, we had 2 very sleepy babies

yes, im still playing catch up...

well here we are at 5 years!! on our honeymoon we swore we'd return to st.lucia for our 5 year anniversary...i don't think the thought of having a 7 week old baby had even crossed our mind much less it being our third...i think brock would have gone if i would have been up for leaving little knox..but i wasn't (suprise, right?)..so we've put it off till next year (hopefully..) instead we opted for our go-to date nite spot, melting pot...leaving M & B with his parents, we stayed out late & had a great nite

here's one little lady who reaaaally loves her daddy..

little knox looking more & more like mia and growing way faster than i want..

aunt cristin came up for a couple days on her fall break. with her killer dance schedule, we take all the time we can get with her...went to the museum downtown and stayed waaay longer than we ever have. we were about to leave to go meet my dad and to our suprise he showed up at the museum. lucky for the kids because it bought them more time to explore but not so good for cristin & i bc we were starving!

congrats brian & keri! we love you guys! keri & i met when we first moved up here 3 years ago. her husband was dying of a brain tumor. he was a soldier who was fighting his hardest battle yet. keri came thru it as beautifully as you can, and brock & i got to watch as she falls in love with a country bumpkin like my own. not only do i consider keri a close friend but now we get to be neighbors with these crazy cats!

sweet braxton enjoying his one and only night with his goldfish (he named them 'letters' and 'brown') we dumped them out in the yard after we discovered they learned to float on their backs... :) i knew there was a reason i hadn't bought these before now...

ohh! i looooove fall! it reminds me of our wedding.... the trees are beautiful... the ground becomes a nature made playground of leaves.... i remember my mom staying up all nite sewing costumes, 'napping' on our trampoline with my brother, and, of course, our most recent tradition of going to the pumpkin patch...what a sneaky way God has of easing us into winter...
