the invitation..
the party...
woke up at 5:30 the day of the party, full of energy & ideas...so i remembered i had bought these ugly wooden frames at a yard sale for like 50 cents (had planned on making bow holders..more on that later...) so i found my dining room paint and some sandpaper & went to town... framed the pix i had taken for his invitations..
found these bubble gum machines at a yard sale (don't worry, they were new) and filled em with skittles, bubble gum, & goldfish...with a jar full of pennies to get em out with!
& i was so proud of my treat bags...usually i don't fool with doing these but, this time i gave in....each bag had a wooden train whistle, bubble gum, silly bandz, & train stickers...
the snow cone machine was a hit!
...giving his new chainsaw a try on our flower bed...
the jumpy placed "inconvenienced" us & couldn't pick up the jumpy till the next day (his actual birthday)...so we got our monies worth out of it :)
eyes closed & waiting in anticipation for his gift...my ten dollar find..a whole box of wooden thomas train tracks...trains, trees, people, box & all...what a deal!
his birthday dinner request was, once again, 'jingle bells' (cracker barrel)..he was thrilled when they came to sing to him...clapping & singing along & in total bliss mushing his coca-cola cake with his ice cream...
after dinner, brock & i played a couple games of checkers outside while the kiddos caught lightning bugs... we put one on knox & eventually had to dig the thing out of his mouth! couldn't get camera out quick enough for that but a little blinking light on the tip of his tongue was pretty funny..
i delivered braxton in record time, barely making it to the hospital...& it hasn't changed..keeping up with him keeps us running...and laughing..and often leaves us with our hands up, wondering " where does he come up with these things???"... what a treasure he is! we are so proud of his tender heart & creative mind. happy birthday little man!
*we're pulling out for mississippi for a month in the morning..so look for plenty of pix in july!
