snakes, cakes, & dirt...

saturday, i turned 26. i woke at 545 and met some friends & ran 5 miles. on the way home, stopped by walmart to grab the new josh turner cd..been waiting on an excuse to buy it & it did not dissapoint. after banana pancakes, the kids showed off the card they made..mia's drawing was rainbows, ladybugs, & caterpilliars...braxton's drawing-boa constrictors & rattlesnakes (thanks, animal planet) i was thrilled with it.

although brock is an amazing cook..we have a neat little place called 'the looking glass' with great cakes, so he suprised me with my very own assortment... i told him next year, i still think i'd prefer his homemade carrot cake

i've been pretty dead set on having a garden this summer(or at least attempting one :) so to get started, i got an above ground garden box...i guess i made the comment "now, all we need is dirt" so after a few minutes, we're like 'where's braxton?"... our first response is to look outside, & sure enough he was out digging in the mulch & proudly came in with..you guessed it...DIRT! what a thoughtful little man..

spent the morning putting the garden box together. the quality time, i think, to me means more than the gift itself...brax got a little carried away with the hammer and ended up with a scar on his forehead.

look! we're growing children! :)
