...so saturday, mia had her first public debut as a dancer at clarksville's annual street festival called 'rivers & spires' ...because mia is very much a thinker and does best when she knows fully whats going on, we have prepped her the past couple of weeks for this...telling her "you get to dance on the stage...lots of people are excited to see it...you might not be able to see mommy & daddy....etc.." well, whether it was our prepping or her inner performer, she was all to eager to get out there and boogie...she watched and waited till it was their turn...marched out there with a smile...then froze! dazed out on the crowd, she mechanically moved her arms, as if she was obligated to do something...after the initial few seconds, she loosened up and joined on in....until...someone let a batch of balloons off into the sky... every little girl stops dancing and off with the balloons floats their attention. hilarious. she kept glancing at brock & i with puzzlement as to why we were laughing so hard... all in all, i'm oh so proud not just because she stepped out and 'performed' what she'd been working on, but i'm proud of the raw honesty she possesses. regardless of what we expect out of her, she never fails to speak bluntly or act opposite of what she feels is right. it seems silly to marvel at a 3 year old, but i admire her for being such an analytical, enthusiastic little girl....enjoy the pix...
uncle brynee....
mamoo & papoo
the famous moment of spotting the balloons...
making bird food later at the festival...it was 'glued' to the bagel with crisco...i tried not to gag as brax 'cleaned' his fingers...
...so she finally got her earrings (clip on) and her cartwheels have improved and she's grown 3 inches...at least thats the impression she was under when she put them in
....and a big happy 30 to brock...we spent the afternoon with him before dropping the kids to uncle brynee & leelee and going to dinner... note to self...3 year old little girls aren't the best at keeping suprises....
Loved the pics! So cute! I love watching children perform, you never know what's going to happen! Hope all is well with y'all! Hope to see you soon! Amy
